WEEKLY OPPORTUNITIES
Graduate Support Assistant—Helping with administrative tasks such as filing and data entry. Ideally, this volunteer will come 2-3 times a week to assist the Graduate Support team in working with current students and graduates. Graduate Support assists 8th graders through the high school application process and remains in contact with graduates in high school to offer assistance.
Lunch/Recess Supervisor—This hour and 15-minute commitment includes monitoring students in our lunch space, supporting procedures, and being an extra eye during recess to ensure student safety. Depending on special activities, the timing may change a bit week-to-week. (In other words, you need to be available from 11:30-1:00, but you would only be here for an hour and 15 minutes within that time frame.) There will be daily shifts; we are looking for volunteers who can commit to a weekly shift and are hopeful to find volunteers who can commit to multiple shifts per week.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday 11:30-1:00 p.m.
Study Hall—Help Nativity staff support students during study hall. Volunteers will help study hall rooms, keeping students on task and supporting them with their homework as needed on the same day each week.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, 3:00-5 p.m.
Tutoring—Helping 1-2 students with their homework during study hall on the same day each week. Generally, you tutor the same students weekly to develop familiarity and trust. We limit the tutors to a maximum of 3 daily to keep the tutoring room quiet and focused. Primary subjects that require tutoring include Math, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, 3:00-5 p.m.
Want to get involved?
We run background checks on each potential volunteer, train them to work with our students, and have an interview, which can be done in person or virtually, with our team.
